Khalish Ideris

Khalish joined ITOPF as a Technical Adviser in August 2024. She holds a BSc and MSc in biology with a minor in environmental studies.

Previous experience

Before joining ITOPF, Khalish spent over five years working in environmental consultancy within the oil and gas sector across Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore. Her experience includes co-authoring impact assessment reports and other specialised environmental reports, primarily focusing on marine systems. She is also skilled in field data collection and biodiversity surveys. Her project management experience includes drafting national waste management regulations and verifying national greenhouse gas inventories.

Prior to her consultancy work, Khalish was involved in peatland ecological research with Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and the Singapore-Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) which involved collecting field data at remote locations within Borneo.
