ITOPF has responded to more than 800 incidents involving oil or chemical spills worldwide. Our highly skilled international team are ready to assist 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide impartial technical advice.
We operate on a not-for-profit basis and provide a wide range of technical services to promote effective response in the marine environment to back up our core role of responding to ship-sourced spills. Our five key services are spill response, claims analysis & damage assessment, contingency planning, training & education and information.
We are currently hiring for a Technical Adviser Position based in Singapore.

The Role
This role involves emergency response and attending on site at oil and chemical spills globally, delivering advice to international governments and other parties. You will be assessing claims for compensation, undertaking regular presentations, and running workshops as part of our preparedness and education work.
Skills and Experience
The key requirements of this role include, a higher degree in science, engineering or a related discipline, strong written and oral presentation skills and excellent interpersonal skills; as well as availability to travel at emergency short notice.
An academic background in Chemistry, relevant practical experience in a scientific/technical role and pollution control experience are distinct advantages for this role.
Fluency in a second language to English is of interest, preferably Mandarin. Competency in Malay, Bahasa Indonesia, Japanese or Korean are also of interest.
