Workshop for Updating the Regional Contingency Plan, Male, Maldives, 22-25 August 2016

Dr Franck Laruelle is one of the trainers at a regional workshop in the Maldives organised under the auspices of the <link https: www.norad.no en front _top external-link-new-window external link in new>NORAD (the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation) and <link http: www.sacep.org _top external-link-new-window external link in new>SACEP (South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme) project.

The main aims of the workshop are to:

· Agree the final draft of the Regional Contingency Plan

· Develop a three year programme of exercises and training courses for both the region and individual countries, to support capacity building as well as a regional cooperation in the case of a significant incident

· Provide training on HNS preparedness and response in the region.
