Gard P&I Club’s Summer Seminar, Arendal, Norway 1-3 June 2016

Dr Karen Purnell was a guest at the Gard Academy annual summer seminar held in Arendal. More than 140 delegates from around the world attended, including Gard members, brokers, shipmanagers and correspondents. The seminar covered a variety of different topics such as roles and responsibilities in maritime incidents, innovative solutions for ocean plastic pollution and shipping and offshore market outlook and development. Karen gave a presentation entitled "How to avoid black becoming red", which discussed the work of ITOPF in spill response and claims assessment.

The seminar provided an excellent opportunity to consolidate our relationship with the Gard team, as well as network with our shipowner Members and Associates and gain feedback on the services we offer.
