ITOPF 12th Research and Development Award applications open from September

For the past 11 years our Research and Development (R&D) award has granted funding for many projects on all aspects of spill-related matters.

The application process for our 12^th R&D award opens on 1^st September and will close on 2^nd December, with the award winner being announced in March 2023.

Our aim is to encourage and facilitate organisations worldwide to develop ideas which can potentially provide solutions to some of the challenges faced by the spill response community.

We are looking for projects which focus on, but are not limited to, preparedness, monitoring, environmental effects, and impact mitigation in relation to spill response.

More than £500,000 has been granted since we began and this year there is up to £60,000 for short-term projects and up to £40,000 for PhD projects, including a student’s stipend and university fees.
