ITOPF was one of the sponsors of the 3rd Premiam Conference on post spill monitoring which took place in London on 22nd June. This event covered the importance of preparedness, coordination and the use of best practice science and technology in marine environmental monitoring.
The conference attracted almost 100 delegates and featured a host of speakers from across the public and industry sectors including Cefas, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, Oil and Gas UK, Natural England, ITOPF, BP, OSRL and others. In her presentation, Nicky Cariglia discussed <link https: www.cefas.co.uk media preparedness-for-oil-spill-environmental-monitoring-an-international-perspective.pdf external-link-new-window external link in new>ITOPF's experience of post spill environmental monitoring from incidents attended around the world, focusing in particular on some of the challenges we have encountered and areas for improvement.
ITOPF also had an exhibition stand at the conference which provided plenty of opportunity for distributing our publications and networking with colleagues within the response/environmental community.
