ITOPF holds workshop at World Maritime University
11 June 2024
ITOPF visited the World Maritime University (WMU) in Malmo, Sweden, to deliver a series of presentations and workshop on pollution incident response to Masters students.
Technical Advisers Conor Bolas and Marta Panero represented ITOPF and spoke on the role of ITOPF, aerial surveillance of pollutants, behaviour of oil when spilled, varying techniques and efficacies of shoreline clean-up, and claims and compensation following an incident.
During the visit the pair also delivered a table-top workshop in which the students were presented with a mock-pollution event scenario and the workshop was interspersed with ITOPF's Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR) applications.
