ITOPF hosts International Maritime Organisation in London

ITOPF welcomed the International Maritime Organization Marine Environment Division to its London office for a full day of information exchange and networking, building on the long-standing working relationship the two organisations have built over many years, solidified by ITOPF's observer status and co-operation agreement with the IMO.

Both organisations gave refreshers on their roles in relation to marine pollution and discussed previous instances of working with one another, including how they can shape future collaboration efforts together.

ITOPF provided some deeper insights into the five core services it provides, including a look ahead at its keystone projects in the coming years.

The IMO delivered a series of presentations on the work of the Marine Environment Division, including efforts to reduce GHG emissions from shipping, work on marine pollution incidents, work on preservation of biodiversity at sea and planned activities for the year ahead.
