ITOPF hosts table-top exercise at West P&I headquarters

ITOPF visited colleagues at West P&I club for a table-top exercise in pollution response.
 
Attendees were tasked with managing the response efforts to a ship-source pollution event near a coastline. The teams were asked to consider the priority areas to focus the response on from a list of sensitive areas and then determine the best course of action to protect them from pollution, with several challenging scenarios thrown their way. 
 
Various aspects of spill response were demonstrated, with a Virtual Reality (VR) aerial surveillance flight available to immerse attendees in the realities of aircraft selection and challenges of identifying oil from above.
