ITOPF invited to industry workshop in India

We were pleased to be invited by the Indian Director General (DG) of Shipping and the International Oil Pollution Compensation Funds (IOPC Funds) to deliver a series of presentations as part of a workshop organised on behalf of the Ministry of Ports , Shipping and Waterways (India) in January.
During the workshop, David Campion, gave insight on the role of experts during marine pollution response, a case study from the Asia-Pacific region and an explanation of claims processes under the international compensation regimes for preventative measures, clean-up, and costs for damage incurred to fisheries.
An overview of the international liability and compensation regimes for oil pollution damage was given by the Director of the International Oil Pollution Compensation Funds (IOPC Funds) Gaute Sivertsen and Mark Homan alongside Nick D. of NorthStandard on behalf of the International Group of P&I Clubs.
The workshop was attended by 150 delegates from a variety of key stakeholders, including the head office of the DG of Shipping, regional representatives from the INDIAN COAST GUARD, and regional offices of MOL NIPPON INDIA SHIP MANAGEMENT.
