ITOPF participates in BALEX DELTA exercise

ITOPF participated as evaluators in BALEX DELTA 2021, the annual exercise carried out by the HELCOM Contracting Parties (Denmark, Sweden, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, European Union) to test their response capabilities in case of a major accident and ensure international cooperation. Angela Pinzón represented ITOPF in this year´s exercise, which was hosted by Finland and led by the Gulf of Finland Coast Guard District in cooperation with the regional rescue services. The event took place from 23rd to 26th August in Kotka, Finland, under restrictions on movement and gatherings to ensure a safe environment for participants regarding Covid-19. Other organisations participating as observers/evaluators included HELCOM, Cedre, the Ministries of Interior and Environment of Finland, the Ministry of Interior of Estonia, the Polish Maritime Search and Rescue Service, and the Royal Danish Naval Command.
