ITOPF provides insight into Arctic Emergency Management Conference

ITOPF has participated in the Arctic Emergency Management Conference at the Nord University in Bodø, Norway last week, where Dr Franck Laruelle and Dr Duarte Soares represented the company.

While there, they delivered a presentation covering how the typical issues of spill response can be exaggerated into real challenges when an incident occurs in a remote location. The talk highlighted how these challenges were realised and overcome during the response of one incident on a remote island several years ago. 

ITOPF also attended the Arctic Oil Spill Research and Development Workshop aimed at sharing research initiatives within the respective Arctic Council Member States and provided technical input to the discussions as well as reminding participants of the opportunity to apply to the ITOPF R&D Award.
