Relaunch of ITOPF Technical Information Paper (TIPs)

ITOPF has relaunched its Aerial Surveillance Technical Information Paper (TIP), a comprehensive guide covering all aspects involved in observing pollution from an aerial vantage point, including how to plan flight paths, how to calculate volumes of oil or other pollutants in the water and more.

This TIP is the first in the ITOPF series of technical papers and has been relaunched, 10 years after its last publication, with new learnings on this topic and an updated style.

Aerial surveillance is a key element in responding to spills of oil and provides information facilitating deployment and control of operations at sea, the timely protection of sites along threatened coastlines and the preparation of resources for shoreline clean-up.
