Training in Lebanon

David Campion attended a ceremony to mark the launch of the Lebanese National Oil Spill Contingency Plan (NOSCP) in Beirut on 10th October 2016. ITOPF had previously provided feedback on the draft plan at the request of REMPEC. The ceremony was followed by week's training course for all stakeholders on different aspects of spill response. It was organised by the Lebanese Petroleum Association at the request of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and led by international and local consultants. ITOPF provided an overview of its role, highlighting recent incidents and delivering greater insight into the legal and financial framework surrounding ship-source spills.
